Spring 1 2020 Sports update

Over the first half term, we have taken part in a number of sporting events. All of the children involved have represented the school fantastically, showing teamwork, good sportsmanship and a healthy desire to succeed!

Here are some updates of how our sports teams have got on:

Girls Football

Our girls team are currently unbeaten and top of the league, with 13 goals scored and only 1 conceded. With only four games remaining, we are quietly confident that they can win the league and remain unbeaten.

Boys Football

Our boys team have not had as much luck as the girls team, our young team which includes six year 4 boys have been playing against some really strong opposition. However, we cannot fault their effort and determination in these matches and the experience they have gained this year will be invaluable for next year.

The basketball team competed in another tournament during this half term against other local schools. They showed real development in skills, teamwork and communication from the previous event and this enabled us to win the tournament with a total of 22 points!

The netball team have been taking part in the local league which is a new event for this academic year. They have played two games so far and both have been closely contested with one loss by only one goal and one draw. We have high hopes that they will continue to improve as they play more matches.

Our indoor athletics squad achieved great success at an indoor event at Tendring Community College. All the children performed brilliantly and came 1st against some strong teams, which now means we will be taking part in the District Finals event in the coming half term.
