Autumn Sports Update

Since mid-September, we have had several sports teams training for matches/tournaments. The girls and boys football teams are entered into both league and cup tournaments with other schools in the local area. They have played a number of matches in recent weeks and the girl’s team in particular has been successful this month.

This year the netball team will be taking part in the local league and have been training hard in preparation for this. The basketball club entered its first tournament before half term; they played a number of games and worked hard as a team showing real development in their basketball skills throughout the event. They are hoping to take part in more games over the course of the year.

Through the Clacton Primary Schools Sports Partnership, our children are having opportunities to compete with other local schools in a range of sporting events. These will help develop the children’s social skills as well as promoting the children’s use of their core values and learning behaviours. This half term our focus is, collaboration and all our sports teams, in both training and competition, have displayed this learning behaviour.

In addition to these team sports, our children also have the opportunity to take part in other after-school sporting activities, which help promote physical exercise. These include boot camp, dance club, table-tennis club and musical theatre club.
